The Aleppo Codex

Isaiah 9:1b-8a

Below is one column of the Aleppo codex in Isaiah 9, beginning in the middle of the first verse (numbered 8:23 in printed Hebrew texts), "He brought into contempt the land of Zebulun..." and ending in the middle of verse 8, "...the Lord has sent a word against Jacob." In the middle is the notable prophesy concerning Christ: "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given. And the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
